Hello all,

I am planning a visit to Nome and Kotzebue in 2024. I was wondering if anyone had any hints for how to bird Kotzebue at that time of year. The quasi-expected lifers I need are Arctic Loon and Hoary Redpoll but I'm interested in any useful and interesting tips that you have based on your experience in this town.

Yea and I have West's book. Was hoping for any additional intel from people who have information or stories worth sharing.

Never birded Kotzebue (I've only been through the airport), but Hoary Redpoll should be pretty gettable around Nome.

Long shot but I asked my wife who’s been there several times. She commented that getting around would be challenging unless you hired local?
Sounds fascinating… I never got to join her :-(
