Hi all,

I am off to Costa RIca for the first time in my life - a short visit this time. Here's the itinerary: St. Elena/Monteverde March 25 to 27; Fortuna March 27 to 29; Manuel Antonio March 29 to April 1. Hotels and travel all arranged, so now I am down to the birding. Have copy of "Birds of Costa Rica" (Skutch), and have some sub-tropical and tropical birding experience (Guatemala, Mexico, Belize, Antigua, Cuba, Argentina). Not really going "full bore" this time - pregnant wife who is also a birder - wants to take it easy - so would be content with a "solid trip" - local basics, some goodies, no need to crawl through the undergrowth for that last woodcreeper.

Any and all suggestions for birding will be welcomed. Also suggestions on other trip-related stuff like good local restaurants!

Gear list will NOT include my scope this time.

Cheers!
