Nikon HG questions (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I was killing some time between clients and popped in to a camera shop to look at their optics. They had two models of Nikon HGs on sale. A couple of questions:

1) What's the difference between a Nikon HG and a Nikon Venturer?

2) What is the going rate for a pair of 10 x 42 HGs and 8 X 30 HGs?

Thanks

No difference; the HG, Venturer, Premier, and LX are the exact same bino, just labeled differently depending on location. The "LXL" is the newer lightweight version, which is also more expensive.

Retail price for new in the box 10x42's (not the LXL's) is right around $900.00 and the 8x32's right around $700.00. Refurbished were available for right around $460.00, but I haven't seen any for a while.

By the way, the Nikon Venturer/LX/Premier/HG's are fantastic glass!

The Nikon LX series are, indeed, fine binoculars. They are built well, possess excellent optics, and are backed by a strong warrantee.
