Today, I went to a hotspot without many checklists. I didn't see many species, but it was raining off and on, so maybe that's why. I saw red-winged blackbirds, grey catbirds, robins, a cardinal, and a wood thrush. Why I feel that I made a contribution is that according to ebird, I was the first to record a wood thrush there. Wood thrushes aren't uncommon in the overall area, so they were probably there all along and since not many birders routinely visit, it didn't get recorded. Still, I'm glad to add a new species to the hotspot's record.
