Obviously a mis-type for Larus, but should now be Chroicocephalus

Thanks Mike. Corrected.

I've left it at Larus, as it re-directs to the Black-headed Gull page, which is the OP's preference. So many people still use that scientific name, it would not be possible for us to catch them all, nor indeed to go through the whole Gallery to change all those that have been uploaded in the past .... how many years has BF been going? LOL

These family shifts are a bit of a nightmare, aren't they LOL

This is a Black-winged kite Elanus caeruleus, not a Kestrel Falco tinnunculus.

Much more note-worthy! .... and indeed worthy of local reporting I'd say.

I think it would be a good idea to contact the poster of the photo and let them know it is not the right name for the bird and ask permission to change the name.
