Trouble is, CSNA (Sangster et al) – the Dutch committee for avian systematics – uses the diagnosability version of PSC as its operational species concept (eg, multiple splits of wagtails etc), whereas BOURC TSC (Sangster et al) used the Helbig et al 2002 guidelines for assigning species rank. George has had to wear two rather different hats...
