Sorry , not a bird question (1 Viewer)

But beware there may potentially be a father-and-son issue here, as there is also a Jacques Christophe Werner, born in Bièvres (Essonne) on 31 Jul 1818, recognized natural son of Jacques Christophe Werner, employee at the "Jardin du Roy" (= Jardin des Plantes) in Paris, and Denise Virginie Lamy -- here, 201/274.
There seems a babtism entry of the son in 1826 in Paris according filae (État-civil - Relevés associatifs). Would be interesting to know when he died. The mother might have married 1840 in Paris here p. 36/51 to André Starck and died 1845 here p. 45/51.

Does anyone know in which family relationship Emmanuel Frémiet was with him? See here.

Is a "peu parente" same as an uncle? What's the English word for "peu parent"?

It doesn't really make sense to me.
"Peu" is an adverb, which would translate as "not much","little", "not many" or "few". Although "parente" could be a noun (denoting a female relative), if preceded by "peu" it would have to be a feminine adjective ("related" in the feminine), because adverbs never modify nouns. "Uncle" is a masculine noun.
Where did you read this, and what was the context ?

Il manifestait quelque goût pour les choses de l’art, — on appelle cela des facilités, — on le fit entrer chez le peintre Werner, dont il était un peu parent. L’enfant possédait ...

After I have seen his death record (Cote 16D 96) here 16. Arrondisement with father Auguste Fremiet and mother Joséphine Frochot I doubt the uncle. I would have expected Werner and not Frochot if an uncle or the name of one of his wifes.
