Upton Warren (101 Viewers)

328 Lapwing, 14 Snipe, 5 Curlew, 60 Teal, 170 Canada Geese and 4 Mute Swan at the Flashes as per Andy P.

Later a flyover Dunlin as per Des.
 
COMMON SWIFT south through the Moors Pool as per Dave J.

The latest ever record for the reserve by some distance and must be in with a shout of being the latest for the county / WMBC region.

The latest regional record was on the extraordinary date of 28th November in 1976 at Westlands neat Stoke

I wonder if Pallid was fully ruled out - given the number of extralimital birds seen in N Europe and UK in the last few weeks??

pekinensis race of Common Swift also possible at this time of year.

Both of the above v difficult to ascertain in non-optimal conditions, however. :t:

I believe the previous latest record for Common Swift at Upton Warren was two birds at the Moors Pool on the 25th September in 2004.

Wane had 4 Little Egrets at Westwood this morning so the 13 had split up...just want thst cattle egret now8-P
