Very busy at the bird feeder today! (48 Viewers)

Absolutely sodden underfoot here, slushy snow still falling.

Goldcrest and robin been around all day, pairs of blue tit, great tit, blackbird and dunnock flitting in and out of the garden.

Sparrows minimal, and starlings yet to appear, meaning there is still food available :eek!:

GREY WET AND WINDY HERE TODAY but it appears the Chaffinch are getting ready to go somewhere as I had 24 feeding today. (mostly males) 6 Goldfinch , a single Greenfinch, 2 Siskin, House Sparrows, Blue Tits, Robin, Dunnock and Blackbird. Starling, Collared Dove, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Jackdaw, BH Gull, Common Gull and the resident Blackcap so despite the weather the feeders were very filled and emptied today.

Both seed feeders empty as predicted.

Blackbird squabble the main highlight of the afternoon, along with a pair of collared doves hoovering up the spilt seed.

My friends reported greenfinches and chaffinches today, but the tits are generally away as they are elsewhere on nesting territories (only a few remained).

30 lesser redpolls pair of bullfinches 2 LTT blackbirds collared doves greenfinches and goldfinches are active in the garden this morning

Greenfinches

Hi Just to say had two Greenfinches and two male House sparrows on the sunflower hearts feeder today. Last time Greenfinch was here was at least nine years ago Sparrows never in the fifteen years I have been living here in Bradwell Great Yarmouth Regards Chris

Single reed bunting and 2 LTT's alongside the goldcrest today.

Hose sparrows out in force, 25 plus, and maybe as many as 10 starlings in one go.

Food won't last long..........

Still lots of activity with both permanent residents and winter residents. The only bird that seems to have moved on is our Ruby-crowned Kinglet, as I haven't seen him since Thursday. Until then I could be certain of seeing him every day, since he arrived in November. I feel quite sad about it! Silly, really. I hope he makes it okay to his summer home up north - and that he has a safe journey back here again in the fall.

Not had food to put out for a few weeks so was quite surprised that now I have put food out again to find the Brambling has actually been hanging around. Also a dozen or so Siskin.

GARDEN MEGA - Yesterday I was in the kitchen and I heard a familiar call. I grabbed my bins and went to the window but alas the trilling Waxwing remained unseen. I went outside but there was still no sign. This is a garden first!!!
