Very busy at the bird feeder today! (21 Viewers)

The amount of heavy downpours we've had over the last few days hasn't stopped the birds from coming down, but the seed feeders keep clogging up due to it being so damp. Sunny today so we'll see if that helps things.

Planning to put all the garden furniture back in place over the weekend, so that will hopefully start to restore some sort of normalcy as well.

Earlier saw Blue & Great Tits flying about at the feeders.

First Siskins of the winter period today, on Sunflower hearts.........where have they been till today? A pair in with several Goldies. But found out where the local Chaffinches are hanging out, a large nearby farmers field that had planted red clover and another green ground cover species, left unploughed, unsprayed, and hedges untrimmed. A flock of over 50 which is fairly good round these parts. Will have to compliment the farmer or tenant.

I've been sitting at my Mac editing Crossbill photos for about an hour now, there are two male GSW in the tree outside my window and not only are they playing hide and seek with each other, they're playing it with me too. Every time I go to the camera, quick, hide! 🥰

Single Lesser Redpoll in the small Siskin flock and a Wren.
Just around the corner are a few Common Gulls but they haven’t flown this way yet. I have had them sat on my roof in years past.
Still missing some easy species for this years list….. Thrushes, Nuthatch, GSW etc

I caught one last year on one of our GSW, chased both away unharmed

I always said I wouldn't intervene but I think I would for the GSW, I love him and he's the only one we have. He'll probably go once spring is here.

Through at the girlfriend's parents yesterday afternoon and they had linnets at the feeders. Not jealous in the slightest....

Just making a cup of tea and saw a Dunnock at the feeder.

Wee bit of snow around this morning up on the hill but, it's brought a lot of birds to the feeders, which is nice
Five Brambling have been joining the sea of Chaffinch along with all the usual suspects.
