Yellow Legged Gull ID UK (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I saw this Gull at Hyde Park London this afternoon, I'm thinking possibly a Yellow Legged Gull? It seemed about right, though maybe tad too dark on the back, but that could be due to the lighting. Wings looked good in flight with quite a large splodge of white on the wingtips in comparison with Lesser-black-backed and the black on the wings when the bird was perched seemed more extensive too. It had quite a clean head with just a couple of speckles, the size was around Herring so do you agree YL gull?

Thanks

Gideon

hi gideon,

it's a graellsii LBGG, mirror size (white spots in p9 and p10 near tip) is variable and this bird definitely looks too dark.

cheers
