the best place i have ever been to and probabally ever will and i never went as a tourist its the best i worked there on a farm and stayed there for three months and even on the farm i saw so much (o)<
 
I spent a few months in Kafue NP, combined with a trip to Livingstone and some time in Lusaka. I agree it is a fantastic destination. I'm still planning to visit the Luangua (sp?) valley at some point, and they have shoebills in the north too.
Heartily recommended for a birding trip, the only drawback being that it's too far north to be included in any Southern Africa guides & too far south to get into most Eastern Africa fieldguides, there is a birds of Zambia book though...
