    Norfolk birding

An early flying visit to Titchwell before finishing my weekend in Norfolk. Managed to catch up with the Bittern from the Fen Hide and a singing Cetti's Warbler before a monsoon of sideways hail curtailed things. I managed an inflight shot of the Bittern which I'll pop on my blog later...

Great afternoon at Burton Mere. Cattle Egret from the reception hide at 2.30, which was great as I'd walked down to the IMF hide to see it there but it had gone. Still, that meant I got the Red necked Phalarope, Pectoral Sandpiper, Ruff and Dunlin. Also Bar-tailed Godwit and two Little Stint...

Cheshire And Wirral Birding: Hills, Lowland and Coast

Just after 4pm this afternoon while looking for Ring Ouzel up at Danebower I watched a large raptor soar round from Axe Edge Moor. I thought it was a little unusual to see a Buzzard here. When I finally got fixed on it with the binoculars, it was quite clearly a Red Kite. It continued towards me...

My first visit to Salthouse since the storms and very sad to see the area as it has been left. Still, I did get nice views of a female Wheatear and an LRP. I am making a fleeting visit to Norfolk from tomorrow until Sunday. Does anyone know if the Stone Curlew are still around at Weeting Heath please? I'd like to visit there and wondered if I'm too late this year. Thanks for any help.:t: Adam http://www.ajonestheearlybirder.blogspot.co.uk

Oh yes, I'm well aware of the sensitivity. At no point did I disturb any birds. The Sparrowhawk, Peregrine and dog walkers did that for me. Had a great morning though, and there really is no need to get too close. Good bins do the job for you.:t: http://www.ajonestheearlybirder.blogspot.com
