Back at home after our run out to Muttonbird, a new guy was waiting to introduce himself; my first sighting of a juvenile Red-eared Firetail.

You can tell this is a very young one, as he's not even started to develop his red ears yet (at least I can't see any). I'm sure the adults couldn't have been too far away.
