Grebe with the reeds
..... and something else!

It's always nice to see a Great Crested Grebe at Loch of the Lowes, as thry're very rarely to be seen at Kinnordy.

I spotted this guy swimming along the edge of the reeds and saw he seemed to be heading for a big blob.... another grebe, a nest, or what? Thought a blown up picture might help, but it hasn't.

I can see, a deer, an otter, and a beaver in that brown hump LOL, so have now given up.

Aha, just found the grebe! But no idea what's to the left of it.
"I can see, a deer, an otter, and a beaver in that brown hump LOL". Not all three at the same time surely!

Wow Delia this is a very unusual shot but a lovely job and capture, many tfs.

I can also "see" an otter, but I seriously doubt whether a grebe would voluntarily swim straight into an otter's jaws, so it must be another grebe. Could they be nest-building together? This is a Spring-time photo, after all. Was s/he carrying any nesting materials towards the "blob"?

You're right, Delia ... not easy to decide ... but, I'll go by Ann's logic ...
Wonderful sharing of wild moments ...
