No fun!
Thought I should share the continuing saga ………………..I was standing under the carport thinking of going to get the mail when this Brown Goshawk flew between the tank and the house and landed in the tree near the shed. I thought that it might stay there so went and got the camera, took a shot from the carport and then wandered over to the shed, got a few shots in before getting nearer and then it flew off down towards the road!
When I downloaded, thought the photo of when I was closest to it looked the best through the tree, then went back over the shots and saw that it actually had a House Sparrow (baby) in its talons, no wonder it didn’t move on when it saw me coming. Poor little sparrow, certainly no fun for it!

It's a terrific capture of this Goshawk but I didn't realize it had a Sparrow clutched until I read your description which made me sad. I know nature is raw at times but it is nature nonetheless.

You got a very clear, detailed shot of thew hunter and the hunted..

They have to eat too. A fabulous behavioural shot and interesting narrative, Nora.
