Zeiss SFL 8x30? (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody.

I was lurking around on some Norwegian web shops when I stumbled across some pictures of a SFL 8x30. I found the pictures when I was flipping through the pictures of a SFL10x40. photos show 40mm, but expected price ≈300-400€ less than 40mm....?

Cheaper than the discontinued 8x32 EL SV.

With a FOV > 140m, maybe 150..

Not bad if that's correct.

Image names are pretty descriptive, in German:

zeiss_sfl_8x30_frontal_augenmuscheln_nur_rechts_eingedreht.640.jpeg
zeiss_sfl_8x30_produkt_perspektive_01.640.jpeg

Exif data shows SFL 30 "photos" were taken nov/dec 2021.
SFL 40 photos taken June-August 2021.

I guess that would indicate a release during the autumn for the 30mm.
September seems logical...bird migration etc.

I cannot even begin to fathom how small these are going to be - the 8x40 are miniscule as it is.

I think these would be a perfect safari bin / African travel bin.

Yes, I see that now, of course, they can't compete with the SF:s...

But I'll settle for 142m, it's good enough.

And 120m on the 10x30mm.

Well, using the Zeiss VP as benchmark, I would LOVE the focuser moving forwards by two fingers width to mid-bin.

Zeiss has my 100% attention with the 8x30 SFL.

If the ER is better than UV HD 8x32, Nikon HG 8x30 and Companion 8x30,
these will be killer binos.

Hope they didn't make these too small, rather than using the same ocular/eye cup as the 40mm version.

That FOV is 465 feet is a bit more than 8.8 degrees, that is a wide FOV.
