Duovid 10/15 x 50 coatings question (1 Viewer)

So tomorrow I am spending some time at a dealer where I can compare the only demo Noctivid 10x available (had to ask Leica in Auckland to pretty please send them to the dealer down here) with the 10x SF from the Blue Square. He has those in stock.

One other binocular that has piqued my interest is the now discontinued Duovid 10/15 which is still available from new stock here.

What I cannot find I out is whether they have AquaDura coating or not. Does anyone know?

Hi Kiwimac,

The Duovids were introduced in 2002. And the AquaDura external lens coating, seems to be first mentioned in a 2007 catalogue.
FWIW, going forward from then while it's specified on various models, I couldn't find a mention of it on the Duovids.

FWIW, anyone can add the hydrophobic chemicals to their lenses with an anti-fog wipe - here's an article on it. These coatings are just sprayed or wiped on, they are not permanently bonded to the glass like the anti-reflection coatings. So folks with older Leica or Zeiss binos, or those with current Swaro or Nikons, help yourselves:
