Guess the bird ... by it's alternative name (1 Viewer)

An appropriate descriptive/guessable name, maybe more appropriate than it's existing one, or maybe not in some cases. No patronyms or derogatory place names please.

An easy one to start, hopefully - ??

New name (plus part of the world found in)

Pied Flufftail (Europe) = ???

The bit in bold was meant to be followed by a smiley of course - this thread was inspired (if that is the right word?) by the AOS bird naming proposal thread -


and is meant to be a light hearted place to make up more appropriate, humorous or alternative names for birds, both those with and without patronyms.

Here's one with an association to modern events though not affected afaik, Spotted Greenshank.

Should be fairly easy.
