Removing an object in the foreground (1 Viewer)

Hi, today I found this pic of a spotted crake I took in Corsica in 2018. I like it but as you can see there's a read in the foreground that it is kind of "ruining" the picture...
Is it possible to erase it or at least to make it less obvious ? And if yes, what software should I use and how should I do it ? Thanks !

Do you mean the out of focus reed that runs down the whole image or the reed that runs down the birds beak?

For the former I would adjust the levels to make the image brighter where the reed is so that it better matches the exposure of the rest of image and then apply some sharpening to the adjusted area to match.

For the latter I would use a clone brush to paint out the reed using other bits of the beak and face.

For both I would use Adobe Photoshop.
