World Yearlist Record Attempt (2 Viewers)

I don't know about this White-eye but I do doubt Sulawesi White-eye (aka Pale-bellied White-eye) in Lore Lindu. It's reported on E-bird several times from that location, however experts (like Frank Lambert and others) reckon that the species is confined to southeast Sulawesi and does not occur at Lore Lindu.
But of course, with now almost 6000 species some errors are unavoidable and I guess Noah will review his list when he has the time. I absolutely envy his adventure and I admire his stamina.

André

Indeed, that would be an error - Sulawesi White-eye is only found in the south-east arm of Sulawesi, and islands to the south of there.

Great progress, and would leave him needing only 11.5 per day for the 6k....

Onwards to 6100!!!!3:)

Surprisingly he stayed in Queensland but in fairness, he does appear to have put in a 17 hour day:-

Now updated - 50 additions in the day leaving a run rate of 11 additions per day to get to 6,000 and an impressive 195 additions from 6 days in Australia:-

According to his map he's now near Brisbane, so there's a few more available at Maiala west of the city, and more south too I'm sure - timsg80?

I'll have to go back - I only saw 10 of that lot!!:-O

Does number 5809 suggest that he is running out of money?

5809 Wonga Pigeon 12/14 Queensland, Australia Gold Creek Reservoir

All the best

Some really good ones already in Aus. Bush-hen and Plum-headed Finch are the ones that grip me, and I'm sure there'll be more to come :t: He's certainly lucky to get Painted Honey on such a brief trip for sure.

There certainly will be, I suspect he'll head to Lamington NP for some more rainforest birds and potentially also to some of the wetlands around the Gold Coast for a few species he's still missing?

Don't know if this has been discussed before, but is a secondary goal to see all families, and if so, is this still possible (I.e. with a side trip to New Caledonia and then NZ)?

Not been mentioned previously and not something I've ever looked at but a number of misses on monotypic families at least.

All the best

Thanks, haven't been following his itinerary closely so wasn't sure if this was a possibilty. Would have been a nice touch.

Did he see Elachura?

He did indeed head to Lamington and picked up some great birds. He also headed to Kedron Brook Wetlands in the middle of Brisbane where I was yesterday! I don't think he will have a huge number of additions from today, but he's seen some great birds.
