Ready for take-off
The houses which front onto the canal on the opposite side to the towpath have private boat mooring privileges.

This one has a series of breeze block ledges and is covered with a variety of old road (mostly) signs. There was a ledge just above this Eurasian Blackbird and rather than 'fly up' he virtually jumped, though did open his wings a bit for the last bit.

This picture is early in this process, after he'd bent his knees then stretched up ready to leap. The next picture was all oof and was headless.

Nicely captured SF Delia! The bird is on the tips of its claws, the very instant before taking to the air.

Amazing timing catching this blackbird with its toes barely on the floor. Practicing its high jumping skills! Well done D! TFS!
