Crikey, what a surprise!!
I was busy minding my own business browsing your pictures, when there was a sudden flurry on the feeder roof!!!

Looking up, I saw a Sparrowhawk sitting there. Grabbed the camera and fired of a couple of shots.

Only then did I decide to check the settings, bit over-exposed, but by the time I'd done that, he'd gone.

This is only the second one I've seen in the garden. About 5 years ago one hit my other window, and occasionally over the years I've had my suspicion one was about due to the behaviour of the small birds.

So an exciting morning for me.

This looks like a juvenile, due to the brownish streaking on the breast.

Great reflex action & a super shot in a lovely pose, never mind the settings & exposure; Delia!! tfs.
 
Blimey, no wonder everything scattered, do you use centre point focusing Delia? as I see the wood at the back is sharper than the bird.
