A Valley Birder
I was wondering if people often source their clothing (and other equipment) from retailers that specialise in other sports and hobbies.

I flyfish and use fleeces, waterproofs and boots in may different guises, and buy my stuff from catalogues from flyfishing suppliers. This, of course means I am kitted out for birding from a non-birding supplier. However, I was recently looking for a bouyancy aid for wading and found the best deal was £20 less in a online yachting supplies shop. Finding alternative suppliers has become quite enlightening.

I 'm curious if anyone else here sources their equipment, clothing and other stuff for other suppliers, outside of the world of bird watching.

I buy from M&M Sports website

Brasher, Merrel, Karrimor, Berghaus, Columbia, Sprayway - some amazing prices and reliable.

yeah. go to you local army navey surplus. they have loads of outdoor cloths and its cheaper than most retailers. it is nice to get good technical cloths but for camo gear you cant beat it.
