Anyone else like Birds AND planes? (5 Viewers)

Coming in and going around at RAF Mildenhall today. I’m thinking it’s a USAF Gulfstream. Seems to have additional fuel tanks on the ends of the wings. One engine either side of the fuselage just behind the wings.

Travelled down from Ardersier yesterday, 19th and on the Blair Athol part of the A9, passed a vehicle heading North! (Very quick, poor, phone shot through a dirty windscreen) :(

Airbus A400M Atlas C1 (assuming it's an RAF one, which is most likely). Good effort through the windscreen!

I can remember coming South through the same pass many many years ago when it was all single carriageway, with an impatient clown right up the exhaust pipe of the Mark 1 Escort my mate was driving when an RAF Hercules came through on the deck: the guy behind us backed off permanently when heads came right out of the windows on each side of the Escort for a better look......

What's this John?

This aircraft and a 'Herc' went over me today on their way in to Paphos. I'd imagine they've been on the aid run to Gaza?

Sorry, phone pics.

By Paphos do you mean Akrotiri?

It's a Boeing C-17A Globemaster III: I can't see the markings clearly so I can't tell if its one of our 8 or one of the USAF's 228.

If we were delivering aid by airdrop I'd have expected an A400M but there may be reasons why not.

Cheers

No, they were going in to the civil airport at Paphos, Akrotiri is c50KM the opposite way.

Iater had a procession of five, 'Herc's' past my place, that's a first.

Probably a Yank one then, ours would work out of their own base. The Hercs could be anybody's including civil ones on charter to the UN.

Cheers

Saw this RAF Airbus A400M Atlas whilst on my walk. It’s a aircraft I’m familiar with as usually see it as it comes here for training.
