Committees do get it wrong on occasion. I'm slightly surprised, however, that a record that has already passed scrutiny by several subordinate but probably not much less experienced committees should be rejected, especially for cranes where long-distance vagrancy and attachment to other species flocks are well-established facts across large parts of the world.
