Focuser smoothness on NL Pure? (1 Viewer)

I'm glad I found this thread. Last year I treated myself to some SV 8.5x42 EL's, and while they are superb for long distance birding, the focus wheel feels too slow and rough for woodland work like sifting through branches for warblers. I found myself wondering if I'd missed a bet by not investing in a pair of 8x42 NL's instead. I guess I have my answer now. I am glad I hung onto my trusty old Nikon 8x32 LX's with their fast and butter-smooth focus wheel!
FWIW - I only tried the NL's in the bino store - to me the focuser felt much improved over the EL's and CL's which I tried the same day. It was smoother and easier to turn, getting closer to the Nikon feel. For me it's positioned lower in a more comfortable place than the EL's too.

Yeah, the placement of the focus wheel on the NLs is perfect, like the Victory SF. They’re excellent for one handed use. I don’t know why more binoculars don’t use this same design.
