Work, poor weather and being tied up in the final stages of the total rebuild of the house I bought last year, means very little birding lately but still a few new ones for the Year list:

Added 13 since my last report: Little Ringed Plover, Redstart, Tree Pipit, Garden Warbler, Pied Flycatcher, Lesser Whitethroat. Little Owl, Goshawk, Yellow Wagtail, Swift, Grasshopper Warbler, Cuckoo, Whinchat so now 179.
 
Heavy rain made birding difficult, but I managed three new birds this morning. (It always seems to rain on my day off.)

SoCal Big Day effort on 4/23 - yielding 142 species for a 24-hr period across 5 counties, starting in LA and ending at the Salton Sea, 175 on the weekend in total. We're lightyears from the current record holders of 237 - but I think with some more careful planning, scouting, and hitting the right migration weekend, we could edge closer to the next tier between 150-200 in a day:
