Overview
Northern Territory is bordered in the east by Queensland, in south by South Australia, in the west by Western Australia, and in the north by the Timor Sea, the Arafura Sea and the Gulf of Carpentaria, with Indonesia further to the north. It is over 1,349,129 square kilometres (520,902 sq mi) in size, making it the third largest of the Australian states and territories.

Areas of Interest
- Charles Darwin National Park - Darwin
- Kakadu National Park - located 257 kms east of Darwin. It is almost 20,000 square kms in size.
- Territory Wildlife Park - located adjacent to the Berry Springs Nature Reserve, in Berry Springs, a 45 minute drive south of Darwin.
- Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - At Uluru birds seen on the Kuniya Walk include Budgerigar, Zebra Finch, Grey-headed Honeyeater, Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater, Singing Honeyeater, White-winged Triller, Masked Woodswallow, Diamond Dove, Red-backed Kingfisher, Black-faced Woodswallow, Black-faced Cuckooshrike and Australian Pipit.
Around the resort complex can be found Variegated Fairywren, Yellow-throated Miner, White-winged Triller, Sacred Kingfisher, Black-faced Cuckooshrike, White-fronted and Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater.
- Watarrka National Park - on the western edge of the George Gill Range, 323 km southwest of Alice Springs and 1316 km south of Darwin, this national park is right in the centre of Australia. Along the Kings Canyon Rim walk, the following birds can be seen: Spinifex Pigeon, Zebra Finch, Grey-headed Honeyeater, Dusky Grasswren and Black-breasted Buzzard.
