Overview
This reserve, designated a Ramsar Site, lies in the estuary of the River Glomma on the eastern shore of the entrance to Oslofjord.
Birds
Notable Species
It is a large area of shallow brackish water with extensive reedbeds and forms an important site for breeding, passage and wintering birds. Breeding species include Greylag Goose, Eurasian Wigeon and Northern Pintail, Water Rail and various waders including Ruff, Black-tailed Godwit and Eurasian Curlew. Caspian Tern also breeds.
